Poetry with Shauna Paull

Here are some wonderful opportunities to study and practice poetry:

  • the poetry studio, shadbolt centre for the ARTS, Burnaby: this is a similar format although we will be meeting at the shad every two weeks from February through to April. We will have two guest poets join us for two of the classes & a weekly cyber writing exercise just to help keep us going. the last session will constitute the second annual poetry bash at the shad (april 26, 2009) and we are hoping the guest poets will join us.

DATES: Feb 1, 15; Mar 1, 15, 29; April 19, 26

TIME: 1:30 - 4:30

COST: we are costing this out at the shad and it is looking like it will be around $200 -- to be confirmed

  • [Breaking] the Writing Habit, Emily Carr Institute of Art & Design (with the grand & beloved Ingrid Rose) - most of you have already taken this at least once but this is just a reminder should you wish to engage with some writing support during the summer. DATES: Wednesday Evenings: June 25 onwards for 8 weeks, Time: 6:30-9:30
  • Summer Writing at the SHADBOLDT Centre: a week long morning writing course for emerging writers. July 28 - August 1; 10 am -noon. This is usually a cross-genre, literature based course intended to excite writers toward a sustained practice.
