HEALTH OF THE PEOPLE - HEALTH OF THE LAND
An opportunity for dialogue...

UBC Longhouse, June 9, 2008, 12:00- 16:30

Join Indigenous scholars and leaders from Canada, Aotearoa/New Zealand
and beyond for an afternoon of dialogue and exchange. Share and learn
about new efforts - including the emerging field of Ecohealth - that are
re-focusing on connections between health, ecosystems, culture and community
to improve health and wellness in Indigenous communities.

Speakers:
Larry Grant: Musqueam elder, born and raised in Musqueam traditional territory
Helen Moewaka-Barnes: Te Ropu Whariki (Whariki Research Group), Aotearoa/New Zealand
Evan Adams: Aboriginal Health Physician Advisor, BC Ministry of Health, and Director,
UBC Division of Aboriginal People's Health
Eduardo Jovel: Director, UBC Institute for Aboriginal Health, College of Health Disciplines.
Tara Marsden: First Nations Environmental Health Innovation Network, NCCAH, UNBC
